 for the 0.4-mill Hardin County OSU extension levy

 

On the November 3, 2009 General Election Ballot there will be a 0.4 mill tax levy for 5 years to support OSU Extension Hardin County.  Extension provides educational programming in the areas of 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Community Development.  The levy is estimated to generate $182,000 yearly.

What Else Does the Local Extension Office Do?

Talking Points about the OSU Extension Hardin County Levy

  1. The levy for OSU Extension in Hardin County must pass in November or all Extension programming, including 4-H, will cease and the office in Hardin County will close at the end of 2009.
  2. Passing the levy will ensure all programming areas are available including 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Community Development.
  3. By law, funds collected from this five year, .4 mill levy can only be used to pay the cost of Hardin County Extension programming, including 4-H. 
  4. This property tax will cost the average home owner approximately $1.00 per month to save this valued educational resource in Hardin County.
  5. OSU Extension brings the knowledge of The Ohio State University to every resident to meet educational needs and improve the quality of life for everyone in Hardin County.
